Welcome to the Institute of Maritime Education & Training

Dedicated to provide first-rate and career oriented maritime education, our flagship institution, Institute of Maritime Education & Training operates from Australia & Singapore. We have developed a unique model of offering many foreign Administration approved maritime courses across various campuses spread throughout Asia and Middle East. IMETA was one of the pioneers in developing this concept of providing quality maritime education by bringing programmes approved by foreign Administrations to the regions, which provide for a majority of the manpower to the maritime industry. Such efforts have not only resulted in huge cost and time savings to our students but also facilitated filling in the shortage faced by the maritime industry for quality maritime professionals.

We have exclusively collaborated with two of the world’s leading maritime institutions, namely TAFE NSW (Australia) and New Zealand Maritime School (New Zealand) to offer our maritime programmes in a structured and phased manner. Our students complete their course of study in three phases, Phase 1 being at our campuses across Asia, Phase 2 at sea with approved distance learning programmes and finally Phase 3 at NZ or Australia. Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) and Maritime New Zealand (MNZ) have approved these specially designed Certificate of Competency programmes and conduct regular audits on our programmes/campuses to maintain the highest quality standards normally associated with their courses. This also helps in ensuring that the students are receiving the same quality and care at our campuses, as they would in these respective countries

Whether you are a school leaver wishing to embark upon a maritime career or thinking of upgrading to a Certificate of Competency, we have all the options available for you.
