April 2009 - IMETA gets audited and approved by Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) to offer its Deck Watch Keepers Programme at Commander Ali's Academy of Merchant Navy, Secundrabad, India.

Feb 2009 - IMETA signs a collaborative agreement with Hunter-TAFE, Australia to offer a Deck and Engineer Watch Keepers programme, approved by Australian Maritime Safety Authority. Successful students will also be awarded an Australian Diploma or Advanced Diploma.

May 2008 - CoC Preparatory Course starts for the second batch of IMETA students. 29 students attend the course and IMETA director visits New Zealand Maritime School and the students

January 2008 - Institute of Maritime Education starts it's eSolutions division offering customised software solutions to the maritime industry. IMETeSolutions launches its first product "Fleet Alert & Response System (FARS)"

September 2007 - Institute of Maritime Education collaborates with New Zealand to offer a Graduate Marine Engineer's programme. It chooses the location of choice to launch this programme in India

July 2007 - Institute of Maritime Education launches it's deck cadets programme in India with a first batch of 27 cadets having been put through this pilot programme
